Camping at Yosemite

Picture
I took one of those small hard plastic kiddie pools to handwash clothes in, plus bathe our toddler in it. The clear water turned black after dunking one of her little socks. It was a pointless task. I had to learn to deal with the dirt and become a happy camper. After that, I didn't care if the kids' outfits matched or if they even wore socks. Who cares when you're "roughing it!"

Our Little Angels (Right!)

Karate With My Girls

Picture
Self-defense is important to know. My girls and I took karate together. I started at age 41, never dreaming I'd ever make it to black belt, but the "indomitable spirit" of Tang Soo Do taught me perserverance and determination, to never give up. I became a black belt when I was 45. Martial arts has had a strong influence on my life and my writing. Ko Map Sum Ni Da (Thank you), Sah Bum Nim, Master Ricky Jackson, Sixth degree black belt. (We miss you - RIP)
